The first Party at the Cottage (PAC) was during the summer of 1997 after my freshman year of college. It has since become a tradition for those of us who make the trek each year to join good friends for a weekend.
For those of you who are unsure of what this is all about, I offer a short summary. The party usually starts Friday evening sometime, dependent on when people arrive. We spend the weekend at the cottage — some sleep inside while others choose to camp out in the yard. The last of us generally head home Monday afternoon.
A $5/person/day fee covers the food for the weekend, which usually consists of hot dogs, hamburgers, cereal, muffins, snacks, fruit, sandwiches, s'mores, drinks, and other menu items that I cannot recall. There have never been any planned activities, besides extreme croquet tournaments, the bocces, and Dr. Katz showings. Most of the time is spent relaxing, either in a boat, on a walk, in the water, on the dock, in the cottage, or around the eternal campfire.
Anyone is welcome to attend and many people come for just a day or two. Please let me know if you have any questions. And please register if you know you’ll be attending (seriously).
